Down along the River Avon to the Inn at Freshford,
for good food & beer.
Informal gathering of musicians most Sunday evenings
to play folk and Irish music. A mile at the most.
Take your wellies in Winter tho,

could walk along the towpath to Dundas Aqueduct and
marina, where there a few little shops, oh yes and
a cafe for those all important tea and cake. About
a mile and half.

Barbara Mc Clellan.
The other is Jubilee leaving from Dundas.

Iford
Manor
This Grade I Italian-style garden is famous for
its tranquil beauty and was the home of architect
and landscape gardener, Harold A. Peto from 1899
to 1933. This unique and romantic hillside garden
is characterised by steps, terraces, sculpture
and magnificent rural views. |
Westwood
Manor House
A National Trust property, this 15th-century stone
manor house was altered
in the early 17th century, with late Gothic and Jacobean
windows and fine plasterwork. There is a modern topiary
garden

Farleigh
Hungerford Castle
Farleigh Hungerford Castle began life as
a manor house built by the Montfort family.
In 1369-70 it was sold to Sir Thomas Hungerford,
first Speaker of the House of Commons. He converted
the property into a square castle with large
corner towers, surrounded by a moat. |
