THE RESIDENTS

From its origins in the thirteenth century to the dawning of the twenty-first, Avoncliff has been the home to many and varied residents. Weavers, millworkers, publicans, bargees, doctors, nurses, chaplains, gentlemen, workhouse inmates, wounded soldiers and hotel workers have all played their part in the history of the hamlet.

At the turn of the millennium, Avoncliff is home
to an equally wide and varied group of people.
